Carrots and Squash, Oh My!!

We have tried our last orange/yellow veggie tonight!  Thursday, we will try peas or green beans.  Soon we are on to fruits...thank gosh!  So far, he really loves sweet potatoes, but not so much squash. I can't really tell about the carrots either way yet.  I should have taken a picture of my dress when he finished eating.  He slammed his hand into my dress and got carrots all over it.  I had Jason take a video of him eating the carrots.  It is over in the links section.  We should have turned the TV off because you can hear the TV in the background... I promise to get better at videos!  I will try to put some earlier ones up too when I have a chance.

Solid Foods and other things!

A lot has gone on since my last post.  Jason and I are both getting settled into work again.  Right now, I am mainly running around my two schools like crazy fixing computers and solving networking problems. I am looking forward to it all settling down and getting back into co-teaching technology lessons with teachers.  I have a lot of ideas for this year.  Jason is getting used to getting to work at 6:30 am. Chase is totally adjusted to going to the sitter everyday.  He loves Jane so much!

Chase has had a couple of doctor's appointments.  He was released from the gastro doctor, thankfully.  I am glad that situation is all better.   He had his 4 month shots yesterday.  They did not go as smoothly as the 2 month ones because he was more aware of the pain.  He was asleep before we left the doctor so it didn't traumatize him as much as it did me.  My mom came into town to take him to both the gastro and 4 month check-up so I wouldn't have to take off work so early in the year.  I was glad she stayed home with him today to watch for any reactions to the shots or sweet potatoes.

We started giving Chase oatmeal last week and have moved to sweet potatoes this week.  He loves to eat.  It is hilarious.  He acts like a starved little piggy.   I am afraid to give him too much and give him a tummy ache, but he just wants to eat more of it.  It is hilarious.  I haven't figured out how to get video off the camera and onto the computer, but I will work on that and post some videos or at least take one on my digital camera.

We went to my mom's last weekend for my grandmother's 80th birthday party.  We tried to make it a surprise, but no such luck.  No one could keep it a secret, but she didn't find out until the day before.  We got her a Chamilia charm bracelet. My uncle and aunt bought her the new Elvis/Priscilla wedding dolls that just came out. You would have thought she won the lottery!

Back to Work!!

Chase's first day at the sitter!

It's official!  I am back at work.  I actually started on Thursday of last week at new teacher training.  Chase went to his sitter, Mrs. Jane, on Monday.  I didn't even cry!  I had psyched myself up for it the night before.  Seeing her take care of him on Monday morning totally put my mind at rest.  I knew she would take great care of him, but seeing him happy to be with her made it all okay.   We are so blessed to have such a great, Christian woman to take care of Chase!  I know he will make great friends with the other children she keeps.  The 4 of them are all older than Chase.  I know he loves to watch them.

Jason started a new school this year.  He is teaching at another middle school that has 7-2 hours. This works out perfectly for baseball.   It is also working out perfectly for Chase.  I drop him off and Jason picks him up around 2.

All in all, it has been a great first week back to work so far for all three of us!
