First Ear Infection
Chase just has had his first cold and little minor ear infection. Of course, I freaked a little over the fever. It has not been a fun and no one has gotten much sleep. I am still struggling with the sleep thing with having a baby. I love to sleep better than anything and I like to get like 8-10 hours a night, but since Chase has arrived, I only get 4-6 hours a night and Jason gets less sometimes. He is so good to me. He knows I can't handle not sleeping so he sits up with Chase a lot at night and lets me snooze part of the night. Anyway, after 4 days of antibiotics, Chase is much better. I hope we get to enjoy Halloween tonight.

6 Month Pictures
I wanted to share a sample of some of the pictures that Jennifer took of Chase yesterday. As always, they are great!! I am so lucky to have a photographer for one of my very best friends! He was not very agreeable for the most part so we didn't get everything in I wanted to. I had 2 more outfits that just didn't make it, but we will get those another time. I think the flu shot he had really messed him up. Normally, shots do not phase him, but he has not felt well this weekend and the doctor said that the flu shot would cause muscle soreness. He finally slept good last night (and so did we) so maybe the worst of it is over until November when we get the 2nd half of it! Enjoy the pictures!

I can sit up!!!

I want to crawl, I really do!

I am ready to go hunting with daddy!

I found my toes and I love them!

Enough already!

Jason and I saw this movie Friday night... a little late, I know. I am sure most of you have already seen it by now, but on the off chance you have not, you absolutely have to see it! I was teary the entire movie because I was so moved by what was happening. If you are a Christian, this movie will move you to tears, if you are not, it will make you want to be. Jason and I have a strong marriage, but this movie still will make you reevaluate the way you treat your spouse and loved ones in general. Take the time to see this movie if you don't see any other one! It is worth it. I will own it when it comes out to buy.

Fall Break
Before I start this post, I want to mention that today is Chase's 6 month birthday! I may make us a cake to celebrate! He is such a big boy!!
We had a wonderful Fall Break! For those of you who do not know, we at Shelby County Schools, get a glorious 2 days off over Columbus day for Fall Break. We went to Gulf Shores with The Ring Family. They are some of our dearest friends. We went to Gatlinburg with them last year. We also took our 10 year old niece Anna-Laura. She was a huge help with the baby and played with Anna Garris, who is 5.
We arrived in Gulf Shores about 2 am Saturday morning. We were all exhausted. Chase had slept the entire way so he was awake, of course! We went to the beach Saturday morning and played in the sand. I will share some pictures of our trip at the end. Saturday night, we went to the Shrimp Festival which has a ton of food, sand castle contest, and arts and crafts booths. We turned in early that night since we were all still exhausted from the trip. Jason and Chris played golf 2 mornings while us girls and Chase went to the beach. The weather was very windy, so Chase didn't get to stay out long. Saturday was perfect, but on Monday and Tuesday there were a lot of jellyfish that had washed up and no shells. Chase especially loved the indoor pool and playing in his float! The rest of the trip was spent eating (a lot), shopping at the outlets, and playing putt-putt! The Taylor family ruled that game!
The most exciting adventure took place on the way home! Once we hit Hwy. 45 (the 240 miles of NOTHING), Chase decided he had to go to the bathroom. It was a disaster! One of those diapers that you hope never happens or only happens at home. It was EVERYWHERE! In the seat, on his leg, on his arm, on his face, and in his ear. We pulled over the second we smelled it, but how it got everywhere so quick is beyond me! I was about to freak out! Holly was trying to clean out the seat, while Chris, Jason, and I were trying to clean his body from head to toe literally. The funny part is that we pulled over on a dirt road and laid Chase out on the back of the Hitch and Haul that was on the back of the car. Anna Garris and Anna Laura were freaking out over the smell! Chase thought it was funny, of course! I didn't think to get pictures of this at the time because it all happened so fast. A nice lady pulled over to check on us and we just explained it was a diaper problem of the worst kind. She understood and went on her way! That was the memory-maker of the trip!
I can't wait to find out what great adventures Fall Break next year will bring with the Ring Family!

It's Halloween Time!!
I have been waiting for 2 months to put Chase's Halloween costumes on him. Finally it is October and I was able to get him in them for some pictures that my friend Jennifer took. He has 4 Halloween shirts, so he will wear one a week this month! I will add the pictures at the bottom!

I haven't posted in a while. We have just been in a routine with go to work, come home, feed Chase, feed us, bathe Chase, put Chase to bed, etc. I don't have much time to be on the computer at night so I am behind! Not much has been going on with us. I am working on my evaluation project for my teaching license, which is to create a school-wide Wiki and have teachers post to it for collaboration. It is going pretty well so far! It is a lot of work, but once I am done with this project, no more evaluations for 5 whole years!!
Hunting season has started in TN for Jason. Last weekend was opening weekend for bow hunting. He was in the woods from 3am-9pm that day. He talked about it for weeks so I was glad when opening day cam and went. He lives for this time of year! I just don't get the getting up early, sitting in the cold, and then killing a beautiful animal. I used to eat deer a lot growing up, but as I have gotten to be an adult, I just can't stand the idea of them being shot. I know population control is important, but still it is sad to me. It is a love and obsession for J and I had rather him be doing that than other stuff so I can't complain too much!
We are getting ready next weekend to go on a trip for Fall Break. We are going to the Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores. I am so looking forward to the trip. We are going with our good friends Chris and Holley and their daughter Anna Garris so it will be a lot of fun. The Shrimp Festival is like the Memphis BBQ Contest, but with shrimp and much more family friendly. They have a lot of kids activities. http://www.nationalshrimpfestival.com. The beach is so nice in October! We can't wait, but we hope we survive the car ride with Chase!
Enjoy the pictures! This is just a sample. There were many more cute ones!

I love my camo blanket!!

I am the cutest black cat ever!

I am TIRED of this hay in my back!

This skunk suit is HOT!
The skunk suit has a red heart on the rear that says "Lil Stinker." It might be the cutest thing I have ever seen!
