Germantown Eggstravaganza 2012

Quin and I took Chase to the Germantown Easter Egg hunt this past Saturday.  It is very crowded, but so organized that it is not bad.   I really miss the Easter Egg hunts like I use to go to.   Eggs were actually hidden behind trees and rocks and you had to "hunt" them.   These days, the egg huts are just a thousand eggs thrown down and the kids make a mad dash.  There is no "hunting" to it at all.    Chase found one little spot of eggs and stayed in that spot.  By the time he picked those up,  and ran on up toward the back of the baseball field, all of the eggs were gone.  It was like a lawnmower mowing grass it was so fast....one sweep of kids and they were all gone.   It was fun and Chase really enjoyed the animals a lot!   Mama Jane is having an egg hunt at her house Thursday for the kiddos and I am sure it will be more like the old fashioned kind!  I plan to dye eggs with him on Sunday.  Those are the wonderful memories I have as a child...dying eggs and really hunting them.  I also plan to  make Resurrection Rolls  with Chase to try to teach him about the most important reason we celebrate Easter.  I am not sure he will get it, but at least it is a start of teaching him about Jesus's resurrection.

We ran in to Mariella and her daddy Brad at the egg hunt.
Chase does love her...you see why...look at those curls!

Chase got up close and personal with a llama.   It was so soft!

This sweet lady gave Chase pet food over and over and over. He was scared to let them eat out of his hand.  He is scared of so many things that he didn't used to be scared of lately.

He liked feeding the ducks lettuce.  They were colored Easter colors.

Not sure what he is saying to this pony, but he would not sit on his back.  Again..scared!

Chase in the firetruck, which I had to get in with him.  He was scared to go in alone.
I want this phase to be over!

Chase way behind the crowd since he stopped at the first pile of eggs. He wanted to open them right then for the candy instead of waiting till the end.  He still got a lot of eggs.

Chase and his basket...he would not look at the camera or smile
and the eggs all fell under the grass.

Chase and Mommaw going through the eggs looking for candy and prizes

It was a fun Egg hunt, but super, super HOT.  I was ready to go have a nice lunch at Red Robbin after it was over and get in some air conditioning!  It should not be this hot in March/April!   More Easter posts to come after this weekend.  I am hoping (fingers crossed) to get a picture of the three of us in our Easter best if my two boys will comply.  Jason is as bad as Chase about pictures!
