The Taylor Family: Surprise 4th of July Visitors!

Since we are in packing mode right now, we didn't have a lot of plans for the 4th. We went to J's mom's condo across from Bellevue Sunday night with our friends the Gearharts and had homemade ice cream and watched the fireworks. Before that, Quin got Corkys for dinner..YUMMO! None of my iPhone pics were very good at night. Yesterday, my uncle Tim and cousin Kyle came by on their way to Reelfoot lake to fish. Tim keeps his camper there. They brought back our trailer he was using so we would have it for the move. I had grilled hotdogs for Chase and I. Jason's mom, Quin and niece Sara Beth came over for hot dogs. Jason had gone to Harding University in Searcy, AR with our minister, Josh, who was speaking to some college students at a retreat type event. Tim and Kyle ate with us too and then I took them to see the new house. I was so thrilled to be able to show it to them. A bigger surprise was that my mom got off work for low census, which means the ICU only had a few patients. She and my mamaw drove up to see the new house and spend the night. After J got home, we ended up grilling out for my mom, mamaw, and J's mom. We had grilled corn and chicken, baked potatoes, fresh squash and butterfinger homemade ice cream. I love to make ice cream in the summer! Chase swam in his kiddie pool and we all let him spray us with the water guns. It was hilarious to see my mom and J's mom running around the yard to get away from the guns. Chase even wore his floatie in the 1 ft pool...not sure why he thought that was necessary, but it was funny all the same. He will never forget his grandmother's letting him get them soaking wet! We did not have a big 4th of July party this year, but we sure made memories that we will always remember. We saw some great fireworks from our front yard last night too. They were being shot all around and boy, for just fireworks you buy at the firework stand, they were huge! Chase enjoyed his poppers while the others around shot fireworks.
